About Linda Pilcher, Founder

Linda Pilcher founded Something Elegant Catering in 1984 with the goal of providing wonderful food and excellent service for catered events. Something Elegant has become one of St. Louis' premier catering companies, specializing in creative menu design for events ranging from intimate dinner parties to large receptions. Linda will work closely with you to create a menu tailored to your tastes. The food will be beautifully prepared and presented, delicious, and made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients available.

Something Elegant also has a line of made-from-scratch bakery products available directly from our kitchen, and at select coffee cafes and gourmet markets.

Something Elegant carries a full liquor license, which enables us to provide beverages for your special event. We especially enjoy pairing wines with food and are happy to conduct a tasting and make recommendations to you.

In addition to catering, Linda provides food styling services and food props for commercial video and film projects. She is the food stylist for the international wine resource website Vino.com. Linda has served as a prep chef for nationally known chefs at special events in the metropolitan St. Louis area

Linda's educational background is in counseling. She earned a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and was a practicing psychotherapist for 10 years, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. She wrote her dissertation on women and successful weight loss.
