The Black Cat Theatre is a very cool space that can be rented
for events. It can hold approximately 300 people seated at cabaret
tables, has a stage, a small kitchen and bar service. They give
a lower rental fee to non-profits.

The Cabanne House is an historic home located in Forest Park,
at the corner of Lindell and Union Blvds. Built in 1876, it has
been beautifully restored and decorated. It is an ideal setting
for a small wedding, with space for wedding party staging. An
elegantly plated dinner party, cocktail party, business breakfast
or luncheons of varying sizes work well in the setting, accommodating
up to 60 seated, and 100 at a standing event. With tenting outside,
The Cabanne can accommodate up to 350 in warmer months, and 250
in cooler weather.

COCA has several event spaces to accommodate varying sized groups
from a small cocktail party to a performance to a large seated
dinner. The historic 1950’s building houses a theater,
dance studio, and gallery, which can accommodate as many as 250
seated or 300 standing guests.

The Clayton Community Center has 3 meeting/banquet rooms, reception
lobby, arcade room, and lots of recreational areas (climbing
wall, pool, gymnasium) that are ideal for fun parties. The banquet
rooms accommodate 80 to 120 seated guests and up to 500 guests
for the entire recreational spaces. The Center of Clayton is
a great venue for meetings, luncheons, bar and bat mitzvahs,
birthday parties.
The Cosmopolitan and The Thaxton

The Cosmopolitan has a Medieval feel and is ideal for intimate
events, including business meetings. The Thaxton, formerly know
as the Eastman Kodak Building, is a beautiful example of the
Art Deco Style. The Thaxton can accommodate 180 guests for a
seated dinner and up to 300 for a stand-up cocktail party. It
has a great bar area downstairs and a balcony over the main floor.
It is a beautiful space for a wedding or a more casual event.

Des Lee Gallery is owned by Washington University, and both galleries
are managed by Phillip Slein. They are open gallery spaces with
white walls, sometimes with exhibitions, sometimes not, that
are great for groups from 50 for a seated event and up to 200
guests for a cocktail party. Located downtown on Washington among
hip restaurants, galleries, and clubs, a fun place to host a
party.
The Hawken House

Hawken House is the oldest house in Webster Groves and on the
National Historic Register. The History Center Barn is associated
with and sits behind the Hawken House. It is a beautiful venue
for parties of up to 120 guests. Weddings have been performed
in front of the massive stone fireplace and outside in the lush
garden. The Barn is available for breakfast, lunch, and evening
parties.

The Lodge is a great place for events from 50 to 225 guests.
The building is newer, in great shape, and can be adapted to
accommodate casual parties as well as elegant affairs. Events
can include swimming pool and gymnasium activities. The Lodge
is reasonably priced and conveniently located just off Highway
270 and Manchester.
The Magic Chef Mansion

This beautiful, renovated 19th century mansion with extensive
grounds, former home of the inventor of The Magic Chef oven,

Located in the Central West End, the Mahler Ballroom has a beautiful
4,000 square foot ballroom with an ornate balcony overlooking
the dance floor. There is seating for 200 on the main floor,
plus additional seating on the balcony. Built in 1860 and renovated
in 2004, it is a lovely space for a wedding or any elegant affair.

Shaw’s Coffee Café is a beautiful venue for a special,
intimate occasion, located next to Viviano’s Market on
The Hill. The café, which originally was a bank, has been
restored and is on the National Registry of Historic Buildings.
The café is a perfect site for a cocktail party of 100
guests or a seated dinner for 50. In nice weather, guests might
want to take advantage of the sidewalk café area for passed
hors d’oeuvres or additional seating. The original bank
vault has trompe l’oeile painted walls and can be set for
an intimate table. Included in the rental package are barista
services for special coffee-inspired beverages. Events can be
scheduled for evenings and Sundays.

The Sheldon Concert Hall houses a variety of event spaces that

has a beautiful skyline view and the Sheldon Ballroom has the

Third Degree is a working glass-blowing factory in a renovated
space with an industrial feel. You can transform the Cool Room
